Cedar House Inn often has the privilege of introducing “first-timers” to the bed & breakfast experience. We do everything we can to make the experience one that turns them into regular B&B patrons.  Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about bed & breakfasts and the Cedar House Inn specifically so you know what to expect when you visit us.

Q: What is an appropriate gratuity for a bed and breakfast housekeeper?

A: Gratuity is provided at our guest’s discretion. $5 to $8 per day is our suggested amount.

Q: What do you serve for breakfast?

A: Some things we keep a secret, but know that each day you will enjoy a two-course gourmet breakfast that will be served to you (rather than a buffet.) Each day we feature delicious fresh brewed coffee, assorted teas, our delicious Cedar House juice blend, fresh seasonal fruit in a variety of preparations and either a savory or sweet entrée robust enough to save you lunch money!

Q: Is there a manager on duty 24 hours a day?

A: It is my pleasure to be available to my guests at their convenience and I am always only a phone call, text message or email away.

Q: Is there a time where the guests have to return to the inn for the evening?

A: I am happy to say that we do not have a curfew, and we will leave the lights on for you!

A: While we love animals, with the exception of service animals we do not allow pets.

Service dogs are welcomed and accepted as required by law, per the American Disabilities Act*.

*Service animals are defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, or calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an anxiety attack. Service animals are working animals. They are not pets. Further, the task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability.

A dog whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.

A: While we do not allow smoking or vaping or open flame inside the inn or any area on the property including patio, porch or parking lot, we ask guest to use area across the street if they need to smoke.
